GWA to GPA Converter (Philippines)
Convert your Philippine GWA (1.00–5.00) to a 4.00-scale GPA, and see how the two scales compare. No official conversion exists — this uses the common linear approximation, clearly labelled.

GWA vs GPA — the two scales
| GWA (Philippines) | GPA (4.00 scale, approx.) |
|---|---|
| 1.00 | 4.00 |
| 1.25 | 3.75 |
| 1.50 | 3.50 |
| 1.75 | 3.25 |
| 2.00 | 3.00 |
| 2.50 | 2.50 |
| 3.00 | 2.00 |
| 5.00 | 0.00 |
The approximation is GPA = 5 − GWA (clamped to 0–4.00). It is linear and easy to check, but it is not an official standard — different schools and credential evaluators convert differently, and some use your percentage or your Transcript of Records instead of a formula.
If someone asks for your GPA: give them your GWA as well and say which conversion you used. Better still, ask which conversion they accept — a wrong assumption here can understate a good GWA.

Frequently asked questions
There is no single official conversion. A commonly used linear approximation is GPA = 5 − GWA: a GWA of 1.00 is about 4.00 GPA, 2.00 is about 3.00, and 3.00 is about 2.00. Use the converter above.
No. GWA is the Philippine average on a 1.00–5.00 scale (1.00 is best). GPA is usually on a 4.00 scale (4.00 is best). They measure the same idea on opposite scales.
On the usual 4.00 scale, the highest GPA is 4.00. Some schools use a 5.00 GPA scale, where the highest is 5.00 — check which scale the school or employer asking for your GPA uses.
The common GPA scale is 0.00–4.00: A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, F = 0.0, with plus/minus steps (B+ = 3.5, and so on) in many schools.
Philippine colleges generally do not use GPA — they use GWA. If a foreign school or employer asks for your GPA, convert your GWA with the approximation above and say so clearly, or ask them which conversion they accept.
